SmartFileIcons is a small Windows Desktop extension tool which makes it possible to assign unique icon to any file regardless of its type. It may be useful for highlighting important files, attaching a photo of an artist or album cover to your favorite mp3 music and organizing your system in any other way using your imagination. It works properly on NTFS file system only.

Usage:

(1) Choose a file you want to apply a unique icon to and right click on it. Select "Change icon" menu item from the popup menu.

(2) You will see two options. Select either "Unique icon for this file only" or "Icon for all files of this type" and click "Pick icon" button. Dialog window will appear and you will be able to browse for and select an appropriate icon.

(3) Press "Ok" or "Apply" button on the "Icon" property page and you will see a new icon for the file.

(4) To remove the custom icon from the file, press "Remove" and then "Ok" or "Apply" button and you will see a standard icon.
